For over 20 years, Betty Karslake has been incorporating her artistic training and passion for food into a unique approach to food styling.
An Alfred University Graduate with a BFA, her artistic ability combined with her love of working with food make her much in demand throughout the Midwest. Her mission is to accentuate the intrinsic beauty and the wholesomeness of food: from organic heirloom tomatoes to fast food. No matter what type of food Betty is styling, she has a firm belief that the food can be presented in its natural state. She does not use synthetic products or chemicals to create the look she is able to produce. Skill and patience are the secrets to her success.
A strong sense of place and keen knowledge of color can be seen throughout her portfolio. Today her work can be seen on television, packaging, magazines, cookbooks, websites and menus.
Betty lives in the Cleveland area with her husband and two children.
